N.G. 'Taste of Santa Fe' 5

Mark Thiessen and the other two photographers for the "National Geographic Expeditions: On Assignment-- Santa Fe" trip met us on Monday morning, gave some presentations of their work and some tips on basic use of the dSLR cameras, and then sent us out to get some photographs of "The Character of Santa Fe."

The results the next day were not pretty. Still, the three valiantly waded through each student's "twenty best" and selected five. This was the fifth of the five they selected from my efforts.

(This made everyone laugh, for obvious reasons. Incidentally, Mr. Thiessen really liked that strip of white sky in the upper right corner and the cable/string running across the sign. He said they gave a three-dimensional feeling to the space.)
